'LNG OneWorld' press release
(17TH May 2002) The last two years have seen a massive surge in interest in the previously conservative LNG business with unprecedented levels of ordering activity for new vessels, much increased interest in new supply projects, a host of proposals for new or expanded import terminals and predications that trade will double within a decade. With a growing fleet and more trading opportunities, the traditional structure of the industry is gradually be broken down to be replaced by more flexible arrangements, with more spot and short term contracts, encouraging speculative ventures and new entrants to the market.
To help encourage this process the LNG Japan Corporation is pleased to announce the launch of LNG OneWorld, the premier internet website for the international liquefied natural gas business and LNG professionals worldwide.
LNG OneWorld is a new site, which provides a single content-rich information source, covering the global LNG markets in terms of production, consumption, pricing, infrastructure, trade and shipping. It combines daily industry news with topical editorial features, as well as supplying the latest data on energy, trade and shipping. There is also a unique discussion forum, where LNG professionals can share and debate the latest developments within the industry, and a members directory where personal and company details can be logged. LNG OneWorld has been created by the LNG Japan Corporation, a joint venture between Nissho Iwai and the Sumitomo Corporation. Day to day content of the site will be managed by London based Drewry Shipping Consultants, a company with three decades of experience of covering the international LNG markets.
Visitors to www.LNGOneWorld.com, are able to register for membership, and they will be kept informed as additional features and content are added to the site over the coming months.
